R.U.N. Car

For a breakthrough new style of Cirque du Soleil show, AMC fabricated a custom Chevy Camaro that served as a key set piece in the production R.U.N., which featured heavy stunts and martial art tricks. The car was used in combination with a full LED screen backdrop showing a moving road. To simulate the speeding car, AMC automated rotating tires and a lower platform that could rotate the entire car for 1,080 degrees. The inside of the car was entirely dismantled to hold the show automation controls, while the outside was reinforced to handle the weight of stunt performers standing on the hood as well as a team of motocross bikers who rode over the top of the car.
