FLIGHT: Wright Brother’s Plane

For Royal Caribbean’s original production, Flight: Dare to Dream, AMC fabricated a realistic ride-on prop that soars over the audience with a performer during the show’s grand finale. To simulate actual flight motions, the plane includes both motorized spinning propellers and hand-held controls for the plane’s rotation. AMC fabricated this moving set piece from ultralight carbon fiber tubing to fit the exact weight specifications for safely rigging the flyer to the theater’s ceiling and hoisting above the audience. AMC also built custom crates for shipping and storing the pieces of the plane on the ship.
